About this dish
A bowl of sushi rice with cubed raw salmon or tuna, avocado, edamame and cucumber, dressed with soy sauce, sesame oil and lime. Poke comes from Hawaii, where the word means to slice, and the rice-and-avocado bowl is a mainland adaptation. Because the fish is served raw, buy fish sold for raw eating and keep it cold until serving.
