About this dish
A triple-decker sandwich of sliced bread with shredded chicken, bacon, hard-boiled egg, tomato, emmental and lettuce, held together with skewers. The club sandwich is American, from the late 1800s, and where its name comes from is disputed. The eggs boil for 10 minutes while you cook the bacon, and the skewers keep the tall stack from sliding apart.
Ingredients
Preparation
Cook the eggs in a pot of hot water for 10 minutes. Once cooked, place the eggs in a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking.
Meanwhile, slice the tomatoes.
Slice the Emmental.
Cook the bacon over high heat, 2 minutes on each side.
Peel the eggs and cut them into thin slices.
Toast the bread.
Spread mayonnaise on two slices of bread per person. On both slices, layer the lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, Emmental, eggs and bacon.
Top the sandwich with a slice of bread. Insert 4 skewer sticks per sandwich to hold it together. Cut the sandwich into triangles. It's ready!
